Cisco 7400 Series Routers are compact, single rack unit routers designed for application specific routing deployments in service provider and enterprise networks.
The Cisco 7400 Series is widely used as a pay-as-you-grow broadband aggregation solution, based on the innovative adaptive network processing technology and supporting up to 8000 simultaneous subscriber sessions.

- 1 rack unit (RU) form factor with front-to-back airflow and single port adaptor slot
- 2 x 10/100/1000 Mbps ports (RJ-45 for Fast Ethernet and Ethernet, and Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) for Gigabit Ethernet)
- Up to 300-kpps processing capability
- NSE-1 processor with Parallel Express Forwarding (PXF) technology
- Broad range of WAN media interfaces from DS0 to OC3 (40+ port adapters)
- Common port adapters with Cisco 7500 and Cisco 7200 routers
- Cisco Element Manager Framework (CEMF) and Service Connection Manager (SCM)
